Psalm 119:20
"My soul breaketh for the longing [H8375]
(that it hath) unto thy judgments at all
times."
H8375 - ta'abah = longing, desire
This tiny, little word is only found in
verse 20 of Psalm 119 and no where else.
The primitive root verb inside of H8375 is
H8374 - ta'ab = abhor, abhor; which is only
found in verse 8 of Amos 6 and no where else.
Amos 6:8
"The LORD GOD hath sworn by himself,
saith the LORD the God of hosts, 'I abhor
[H8374] the excellency of Jacob, and hate
his palaces: therefore will I deliver up
the city with all that is therein."
So deeply intertwined and enmeshed together
are these two humble, little words. These
are expressing the duality of His heart that
is breaking.
Both words reveal the unique struggles as
they are conveying both the longing for the
judgments of the LORD as well as a primitive
root that abhors the religious fulfilment of
His Nation's potential without following
the LORD.
Luke 13:34
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills
the prophets and stones those who are sent
to her! How often I wanted to gather your
children together, as a hen gathers her
brood under her wings, but you were not
willing!"
The leaders of the nation of Israel were not
willing to gather in unity of the love of their
one true God Almighty and obey Him as their
Ruler. Instead, the leaders were wolves in
sheep clothing disquised so as to deceive and
lead astray. And yet, such leaders were not
left without a witness about Jesus Christ.
John 11:51-52
"Now this he did not say on his own authority;
but being high priest that year he prophesied
that Jesus would die for the nation, [52] and
not for that nation only, but also that He would
gather together in one the children of God who
were scattered abroad."
When the Rapture event is upon us, we who
are longing for Him and bear fruitfulness for
His Kingdom shall be gathered to Him meeting
together with Him in the air. Let us be willing
to obey Him in this. Perhaps it will require of
us who believe to long to join Him in the air
as well abhor those things that would hold us
back as an obstacle.
Matthew 24:26-27
"Wherefore if they shall say unto you,
'Behold, he is in the desert'; go not
forth: behold, [he is] in the secret
chambers; believe [it] not. [27] For
as the lightning cometh out of the
east, and shineth even unto the west;
so shall also the coming of the Son
of man be."
