Hope For Those Crushed

In the lexicon of Strong's concordance
for the word, 'crush' there are 5 Hebrew
words that are equivalent.

One of them was listed as H7533 - Ratsats
which means: oppressed, broken, break,
bruised, crush, discouraged, struggle together.

For H7533, I read the 19 listings that are
in the Old Testament. I noticed how two of
these verses point us towards our Messiah.

Isaiah 42:3-4    NASB
A bruised [H7533] reed He will not
break, a dimly burning wick He will
not extinguish; He will faithfully
bring forth justice. [v4] He will
not be disheartened or crushed [H7533]
until He has established justice in
the earth; And the coastlands will
wait expectantly for His law."

He will not crush those who have been
oppressed, broken and bruised with the
struggles of this life. He will not
add to our discouragements that we have
wrestled with nor dishearten against us
for the crushing burdens we have carried.

Isaiah 53:5    KJV
But he [was] wounded for our transgressions,
[he was] bruised [H1792] for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

Our Messiah allowed Himself to be crushed
by laying down His life. He allowed Himself
to be broken even as He poured Himself out.

Mark 14:24    NASB
And He said to them, "This is My blood
of the covenant, which is poured out
for many."

When He returns and reigns, His justice will
be faithfully established on the earth. Then
we will find our expectant hope in Him complete
as our Guardian, our Savior and our LORD.
